HERE IS WHAT YOU GET INSIDE...

Complete Video Training Library

This course is for students who are Absolute Beginners and want to learn the Fundamentals of Salsa or for those who Dance Salsa On1 and want to transition to Salsa On2 "NY Style".

We will help you master your fundamentals so you gain the confidence you need to look and feel smooth on the dance floor. The course is progressive so we will build upon each week to give you the muscle memory you need to advance.

Even if you don't have a partner, you can work on the solo steps that will get you ready for the dance floor and to dance with any level partner!

As we get deeper into the course material, you will be able to create more challenging turn patterns and shines as you master the fundamentals. Walk away with a skill set for life!

HERE IS WHAT YOU'RE GOING TO LEARN...

MODULE 1
BASIC STEPS & TURNS

We will work on basic steps & turns, practice exercises and drills. This will help make you look less mechanical and become more grounded & fluid as you connect the steps to the music. Once we understand the Salsa rhythm and create muscle memory in our steps we can become quicker, precise and more controlled in our steps and turns.

MODULE 2 - SHINES, RIGHT TURN & VARIATIONS

We cover our first set of Shines, the different connections in partnering and learn about the different hand variations you can use in the right turn. The main focus is to keep the control and master the right turn footwork and keep the connection to your partner to be able to react to hand changes while continuing to connect to the rhythm!

MODULE 3 - SHINES, LEFT TURN & VARIATIONS

We cover more Shines and learn about the different hand variations you can use in the left turn. The main focus is to keep the control and master the left turn footwork and keep the connection to your partner to be able to react to hand changes while continuing to connect to the rhythm! We put our first Turn Combo together!

MODULE 4
SHINES, CROSS BODY LEAD

We work on more Shines that help with control, timing and balance!
Learn the Cross Body Lead with different hand positions and different connections with your partner. We move into a longer turn pattern combo to start implementing what we have learned so far!

MODULE 5 - SHINES, OUTSIDE TURN & VARIATIONS

Time to start traveling with your turns! We learn the breakdown of the Outside turn and how to properly lead and follow all while remaining connected to your partner and the music. Learn how to gain the control of your turns while traveling and add more dynamic!

MODULE 6 - SHINES, INSIDE TURN & VARIATIONS

We cover the Inside Turn and different hand variations to make this turn look fluid and different each time! We also cover specific techniques of each traveling turns so you can differentiate between the two and learn how to lead and/or follow better without memorizing!

MODULE 7
WHEN TO SHINE & TURN COMBO

Now that we have built our Shine repertoire, it's time to Jam! We also cover some important tips to understand how and when we use them and how to get into them and out of them on the dance floor! We then get into a more complex turn pattern using our traveling turns!

MODULE 8
TIME TO GET CREATIVE!

This is Transformation time! Using all of the tools and techniques throughout the course, building off a great foundation, we want you to get creative with us! We then show you how this can progress into more intricate turn patterns getting you ready for the next levels!

If you're looking to get into salsa dancing this is the place to go. Joel and Maria made it easy for a novice like myself to grow more confident with my dancing. Shoutout to Nancy who teaches the Tuesday bootcamp who helps drill the fundamentals which become important in the classes after bootcamp.

I purchased the 8 week Boot Camp Beginners Package I went for my first lesson and it was great. The instructor was Nancy and she was awesome and also funny she made the class fun. I would definitely recommend Joel Salsa to ALL my friends and who ever is reading this review. I also purchased the online classes which is great because I can review and practice at the Comfort of my home prior to going to class. I can’t wait for my next class. 👍🏼

This is a long review, and for those of you who don't have the time, this is the gist:Taking Salsa lessons at Joel Salsa rocks, is a lot of fun, and you should not think about it twice! Seriously, I wish I could give them more stars! Now the longer version:I've been taking Salsa lessons with Joel Salsa and Claudia Sol for just about two months and I kid you not, the decision to start taking Salsa lessons with them is one of the best decisions I've ever taken. I signed up for the 8 week bootcamp, two weeks after starting the bootcamp signed up for private lessons with Claudia to supplement the group classes, and just last week I upgraded to their VIP package, which allows me to take all their regular weekly classes within my level, and gives me free admission to their social dance events. My point is that the longer I spend time with them, the more I want -- I just can't get enough! Why all this enthusiasm, you ask? I'll tell you why.- You get to learn Salsa!- You get to meet different people!- You feel welcome (you see all kinds of people in the group classes)!- You get to do some exercise!- You get to listen to music!- You get to dance!- The instructors are awesome!I've taken lessons with almost all the instructors at Joel Salsa, and all of them are super awesome! They make it impossible not to have fun! They are professional, courteous, friendly, and charismatic. I always see them smiling, laughing, and telling jokes. It is so much fun, it can feel like a party! My personal favorite is Claudia Sol, because she is full of charisma, and shines with joy when she is leading the class, especially when she makes us dance at 100 miles per hour! She's also great as an instructor for private lessons. She is just as fun in a private setting, but for private lessons she uses your input, such as your goals, to develop a personalized lesson plan. She also makes herself available, takes the initiative to provide tips or share Salsa resources, and is quick to respond to questions. Seriously, Claudia is awesome! In my case, I gave Joel Salsa a shot because I'm interested in learning Salsa to a sufficient level of skill that I feel comfortable social dancing. This is a medium term goal that will take several months to accomplish; however, Joel Salsa is so much fun, even if you have different goals, I would recommend trying Joel Salsa. If you just want to have fun in a different setting, give Joel Salsa a shot!If you want to exercise but hate the gym, give Joel Salsa a shot!If you are planning a team building activity for your team at work, sign up everyone for a class at Joel Salsa! If you want to meet people in a fun setting, sign up for a class at Joel Salsa!Thinking of getting your friend(s) a gift? Give them a class at Joel Salsa!Seriously, you won't regret it.Preguntas? Questions?

So far I have taken the first class in the bootcamp series and it was so much fun! They do an excellent job breaking down the steps.  I was also impressed by the amount of men taking lessons so that we could partner up.  Joel and Nancy have great attitudes and I'm really excited about taking the rest of the classes in the series!  Also, if send them and inquiry, they respond FAST and answer all of your questions. I recommend coming here!

Excellent first class. I really enjoyed the technique and immediately signed up for 4 extra classes for the full 8 week bootcamp. Been going now for 2 months and am extremely satisfied. I definitely feel like I have a grasp of the fundamentals of Salsa and am eager to learn new material once I get Level 2 more down packed.

Joel Salsa is one of my favorite Latin Dance Studios in Manhattan. Joel and Maria are incredibly talented instructors, phenomenal dancers and all around good people. They create an atmosphere of family at their studio, welcoming and encouraging new students to keep at it. Their classes are based on cycles (Salsa Bootcamp level 1 and 2; eight weeks long). Beginners cycles last a few weeks before you can upgrade to the next level of bootcamp. Quite often, students will repeat cycles to master the basics before going on to intermediate or more advanced levels. I love that the studio focuses on technicality, timing, musicality and being original as a dancer. The instructors will teach certain steps in different ways or with a unique flair and the student is left to and make it their own. Maria will also sometimes offer a ladies styling workshop which is incredibly useful for girls looking to add a sexy touch to their salsa and bachata dancing. They have one of the best bachata instructors, probably in all of NYC who is leaving - but will definitely be around for workshops and special instruction. All in all, I would highly recommend Joel Salsa for the beginner who wants to get their feet wet or the more advanced dancer who wants to unlearn bad habits and train with some of the best Salsa instructors in New York City. I cannot recommend Joel Salsa enough! What are you waiting for? :)

I can't recommend Joel Salsa enough. Joel, who is the owner and main instructor for my beginner's salsa bootcamp classes, is a friendly, funny, and engaging teacher that structures the classes in a way that has us actively practicing old and new techniques while moving lessons at a good, fast pace. Classes are also broken up into 4-week cycles with each class in each cycle appropriately labeled by level, which helps newcomers like me understand which cycle and class is for me.In short, the classes are great, and if you want to salsa, Joel Salsa.

Joel and Maria are amazing! I always felt very shy about dancing salsa, despite the fact that I loved it. My friend and I decided to do the 8-week bootcamp and figured we had nothing to lose. It was simply wonderful. Not only was I able to learn basics and build confidence, the other participants were so nice, too! There is a strong sense of community within the group and I felt very comfortable. They hold socials and workshops and that was super helpful when it came to practicing. I think Joel and Maria are amazing instructors and I can't recommend them enough.
